As high pressure sits over the Rocky Mountains, the weather pattern sets up for a Santa Ana wind event and hot temperatures for much of Southern California.
The calendar says it’s the middle of October but the weather is feeling more like late August/early September. A ridge over the eastern US is bringing 10-25 degree above average temperatures to parts of Texas and the Southeast.
A summer like air mass has settled into the upper Midwest pushing high temperatures 15-25 degrees above average for Monday. This unseasonably warm air mass is also going to bring the chance for severe weather by the late afternoon.
