Two disturbances moving in from the Ohio Valley and Southeast U.S. will combine to bring light to moderate snow from eastern Ohio to the mid-Atlantic coast, including the major I-95 metros from Richmond, Virgina to New York City. The heaviest band of snow is expected to set up after midnight around Richmond up into central Virginia, where 2-4″ is expected by the middle of Friday morning, with some locally higher amounts up to 6″ possible. A strengthening coastal storm will also dump 1-3″ of heavy rain across southeast Virginia and northeast North Carolina, making for a soggy Friday morning commute for places like Raleigh, Norfolk and Virginia Beach. Coastal areas of North Carolina will also experience strong winds, with gusts up to 50 mph.
