Saturday Severe Storms in the High Plains

Spotty strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to fire Saturday afternoon and evening along a dry line that extends from western Kansas through the panhandles of Oklahoma and Texas, down into the Big Bend of the Rio Grande River.

Strong to Severe Storms Possible for El Paso, TX

An upper level disturbance will bring the chance for strong to severe storms this afternoon into the evening for the El Paso area.  Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop during the afternoon and will push east during the evening effecting southwest Texas and southern New Mexico.  Large hail and damaging winds will be the main threat with any of the stronger storms.  As the storms push east they will carry less of a severe threat but could produce some strong winds.

Strong storms are ongoing across far southern Texas now and they will push east out of the area by the evening. Strong winds and hail will also be the threat with these storms.
