Flash Flood Threat Will Continue through Friday Morning over Mid-Atlantic
Multiple rounds of slow-moving storms will produce pockets of very heavy rainfall around the Chesapeake Bay today into early this evening. By later today into the overnight hours, a flash flood risk will build for the central Appalachians.
UPDATE: Matthew Becomes a Hurricane Thursday Afternoon
The latest aircraft recon and satellite data indicate that Matthew has become a minimal hurricane with sustained winds to 75 mph. Conditions are expected to become even more favorable for intensification on Friday or Saturday. Matthew could threaten Jamaica and Cuba by Sunday or Monday!
