Look for a risk of severe storms later this afternoon into tonight for portions of the Southern Plains as well as the Midwest. Damaging winds and large hail will be common threats with the hotter cells. An isolated tornado can’t be ruled out.
A strong low pressure system tracking west to east across the Plains will spark severe storm development through early Monday. Limited moisture will mean isolated rather than widespread storm coverage. However, the storms that do develop could produce damaging winds and large hail.
Warm weather is a strong motivator for many to start exercising in the fresh air, especially after a cold winter. Whether jogging, cycling, swimming, playing football or basketball – many different types of activities lure the crowds out into the open.
