A surge of summer-like humidity will interact with a stationary front to produce strong to severe storms this afternoon. The main threat area will be a narrow zone from Oklahoma northeast through the Ohio Valley. Hotter cells in this zone will drop damaging winds and very large hail.

Another round of severe storms is on the way for Friday afternoon into Saturday morning. The target zone will be a narrow strip from the Southern Plains to the Ohio Valley. Strong winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes will all be threats! Flash flooding will also become a widespread concern overnight.
TUESDAY UPDATE: A week-long active weather pattern from the Plains to the Southeast may mean the most widespread severe activity of the season so far.
