It’s been a bleak start to the day for Melburnians with a thick pea-soup fog obscuring the city.
It was caused by very cold temperatures overnight combined with moisture in the lower layers of the atmosphere.
The fog has reduced visibility to about 200m in places and won’t clear to around mid-day. However the afternoon is expected to bring some sunshine.
No worries though if you’re up on Mt Dandenong where a clear view of the fog can be seen and blue skies!
