Rain and storms moving east off the Appalachians will be able to tap the heat and rich moisture, allowing some strong storms to develop. The Storm Prediction Center issued a watch for the region at 1:40 EDT.

We’re expecting damaging gusts to be the main threat, with a slim chance of a tornado. Large hail today won’t be an issue.
Isolated storms may also pop up across NY, and areas further west into KY and WV.
