This dream beach is located on the second-smallest inhabited island in the Balearics and beckons with its fine sand and turquoise-blue water. It is best reached by bicycle or on foot. Hippies first established themselves at this location and today still contribute to the beach scene with a market. A small tip: unlike car and scooter drivers, you don’t have to pay if you cycle to the beach on Illetes.

Turquoise-blue, crystal-clear water and white cliffs: this beach in the Bay of Navagio on the Greek island of Zakynthos is no longer a secret but in any case has become a beach dream. It is not only the 25-degree water that attracts water-lovers, the famous smugglers’ ship on the beach is also an absolute must-see.

On the Dalmatian island of Vis in Croatia is the small, cup-shaped pebble beach of Stiniva. The beach lies between high cliffs and the open sea and can only be seen through a narrow crevice in the rock. Stiniva was officially chosen in 2016 by European Best Destinations as the “Best Beach in Europe”.

Elafonisi, Crete, Greece

The small island of Elafonisi belongs to the Greek island of Crete and can be reached by boat from there. There you’ll find something even the Caribbean can’t offer: a pink beach. The beach has a pink shimmer because of its many small shell and coral particles. The water, on the other hand, is a wonderful turquoise blue.

Ponta da Piedade, Algarve, Portugal

Ponta da Piedade offers hidden beaches and bays and is perfect for holidaymakers looking for respite from the crowded beaches. The crystal-clear water of this Portuguese headland is up there with the Caribbean. There are also many grottos and a lighthouse that you can visit. It is especially recommended to marvel at the sunset against the impressive backdrop of cliffs, beach and sea.
