Mother’s Day Weekend Nor’easter

Mother’s Day weekend is shaping up to be wet and windy across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Low pressure across the Tennessee Valley will track up the East Coast through Mother’s Day Sunday.

A stationary boundary draped across the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys is producing rain through this region. Low pressure will organize along the boundary Friday night and track toward the Delmarva coast through Saturday

Low pressure will strengthen just offshore as it tracks northeastward toward New England over the weekend. An abundant pool of moisture will be drawn inland from the Atlantic enhancing the rain from Virginia to Maine.

The low will be slow to exit New England on Monday allowing for additional periods of rain to linger across Maine and Atlantic Canada. Conditions will improve noticeably for New England on Tuesday.
