Late Season Snow for the Eastern Rockies

A late season storm will develop over the southern Rockies and bring heavy snow to the area. How much can we expect?

A strong system will deliver severe weather to the southern Plains and Mississippi Valley on Saturday. On the backside of this system, heavy late season snow is possible for the eastern Rockies. Up to 2 feet will be possible in the highest elevations. The Denver metro area can expect anywhere from 4 to 8 inches. Heavy snows will fall along the I-25 corridor, including Colorado Springs and Pueblo. Blizzard conditions may occur in some areas as winds are expected to intensity behind the storm. Travel is not advised due to roads becoming treacherous with snow cover and reduced visibility for driving.
