*** BREAKING NEWS *** Threat of Severe Storms and Flooding Late on Friday!

Another round of severe storms is on the way for Friday afternoon into Saturday morning. The target zone will be a narrow strip from the Southern Plains to the Ohio Valley. Strong winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes will all be threats! Flash flooding will also become a widespread concern overnight.

A stationary front will be in place by Friday with plenty of warm Gulf moisture to the south. An upper level disturbance will move in, sparking severe storm development by late Friday afternoon into Friday evening. The front will not move much at all, meaning a narrow threat zone. However, within that zone there will be high winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes.

Heavy rain will also be widespread in the green shaded area thanks to slow, training storm motions along the stationary front.  Rainfall upwards of six inches may occur in isolated spots! The heavy rain and flash flood threat will persist well into the weekend.
