Severe storms raked the Southern Plains on Tuesday, bringing very large hail, destructive winds, and even some tornadoes. The severe risk shifts east for Wednesday. Watch for intense storms from eastern Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas into Missouri, Arkansas, and Louisiana.
Conditions are not quite as conducive for the same intensity of storms as on Tuesday. Scattered storms will develop by mid-afternoon, however. Hail up to two inches in diameter and wind gusts to 70 mph will accompany the strongest cells. An isolated tornado can’t be ruled out of the question, either.
The severe risk will translate further east by Thursday, targeting the Tennessee Valley. We’ll have further updates through the next few days. Stay tuned to our Twitter and Facebook feeds for the latest!
