A low pressure system is expected to drop an abundant amount of snow across portions of the Plains Tuesday into Wednesday.
Currently there is a strong upper-level jet which will cause lifting to occur. With that, a low pressure system will move through Kansas on Tuesday. Moisture will start to build into the areas northwest of the low. As the low moves across the Plains the initial precipitation could be seen as rain but as the day progress the whole area will turn to just snow.
Little to moderate amounts of snow will be seen in Minneapolis while Sioux Falls could see 6+ inches of snow. The Morecast team will be monitoring the situation. CheckĀ our Twitter and Facebook pages for any new updates as the storm begins.
