Quick-Hitting Light Snow Event For Central U.S.

Cold air settling southward across the Central Plains to the Ohio Valley will set the stage for a quick-hitting light snow event.

The Details:

A fast moving disturbance will eject eastward from the Rockies Wednesday night. Consequently, a shield of light snow will spread eastward between I-70 and I-80 in the Central Plains. After bringing up to a couple of inches of accumulation to Kansas City and St. Louis, the light snow will expand eastward across the Ohio Valley during the day on Thursday.

While accumulations will remain generally light, the cold temperatures preceding the storm will increase the chances for slippery roads from St. Louis to Louisville and Cincinnati.

The disturbance will continue eastward threatening parts of the Northeast with some snow.
