Hottest Halloween in Over 60 Years? Now That’s Spooky

A fall warm-up is underway in the central U.S. just in time for Trick-or-Treating! Locations from Denver, CO to Wichita, KS could see the warmest Halloween since 1950!

Record high temperatures for Halloween will be challenged early this week from the Front Range of the Rockies through the Great Plains to the Central Mississippi River Valley and Midwest!

Many daily record highs for Halloween across the Central Plains were set in 1950. These records could be challenged Monday for the major cities of Denver, CO, Wichita, KS, and Kansas City, MO. Look for temperatures across this region to reach the upper 70s to mid 80s Monday afternoon. Young superheroes and princesses won’t need coats as they head out to gather their goodies tonight! This hot weather will continue into the beginning of November. A few of these locations will see similar temperatures Tuesday, also threatening record daily highs.

Later This Week:

Tuesday and Wednesday, this heat travels eastward into the Mississippi Valley and Midwest region. Temperatures in the upper 70s and lower 80s will threaten daily records for major cities like Indianapolis, IN, Louisville, KY, and Toledo, OH. The heat will build into the East mainly on Wednesday. This could be the warmest early November temperatures this region has seen in over 30 years!
