The calendar says it’s the middle of October but the weather is feeling more like late August/early September. A ridge over the eastern US is bringing 10-25 degree above average temperatures to parts of Texas and the Southeast.
Cities like Austin, New Orleans, Birmingham, Atlanta will see prior record high temperatures in jeopardy on Wednesday. Highs across Texas will climb into the upper 80’s to lower 90’s. With Austin in the lower 90’s, they will make a run at the former records of 93 (Tue) and 94 (Wed). This will also be 15-20 degrees above average.
As you head east, you won’t be able to escape the unseasonably warm weather. Birmingham will see highs right around 90 on Wednesday, which would beat the previous record of 86 (Tue) and 88 (Wed). Atlanta will be no exception either with temps in the mid to upper 80’s, threatening records of 86 (Tue) and 87 (Wed).
If you are wondering where the fall like weather is, you won’t have to wait long. A cold front will push through on Thursday and Friday bringing more seasonal air.
