Severe Storms Threaten College Football Saturday

A cold front will be moving across the Midwest into the Eastern Great Lakes today triggering thunderstorms over this region. Will your favorite college football game be impacted by showers and storms today?

Severe thunderstorms will develop this afternoon ahead of a cold front across the Ohio River Valley and Eastern Great Lakes. A combination of favorable upper-level support and a surface front moving eastward will help spark storms. Storm hazards include hail up to 1″ in diameter, wind gusts up to 65 mph, flash flooding, and an isolated tornado. Some big college football games that may be impacted include Central Florida @ Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan and Tulsa @ Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio. Showers and storms will move into Ann Arbor roughly between 2:30 and 3:30 PM. For Columbus, the storms will arrive a bit later between 5-6 PM. This may affect field conditions and or delay the game if any lightning strikes or strong winds are present.

Some major cities at risk today include Columbus, Ohio; Cincinnati, Ohio; Cleveland, Ohio, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Buffalo, New York; Rochester, New York; Toronto, Canada; Montreal, Quebec.
