Strong storms in outlook for Upper Midwest

A cold front stretching from Canada to Colorado will trigger storms this evening. The most elevated risk will be from Southern Wisconsin into parts of Iowa and Nebraska.

Upper Midwest

Firstly, severe weather conditions will line up best in southern Wisconsin this evening. Strong wind and moderate sized hail will be possible with all storms. Storms in Wisconsin may also be able to tap some conditions favorable for weak tornadoes.

Plains

Severe weather looks more likely for the eastern Plains through Nebraska and Iowa. Wind and small hail will be most likely. Unlike further north, tornadoes will are not a huge threat.

Southern Rockies

A disturbance along the front will help trigger storms along the southern Rockies later in the afternoon. Activity will only be isolated, with wind and hail the only threats.
