Last week the Southwest had a lot of moisture pumping into it causing the humidity to be fairly high. This week it will be drier but above average temperatures will be present for the start of the work week.
A high pressure ridge is sitting over the area which is bringing these non-record breaking above average temperatures to the Southwest. Coastal areas won’t see these high temperatures though due to a well defined sea breeze that will keep the temperatures at bay.
Lower dewpoints across the Southwest will help make the heat a little more bearable but it will still be fairly uncomfortable if outside for long periods. Luckily these temperatures wont be lingering around like they did across much of the eastern United States last week! A low pressure trough will start to move in aloft Tuesday which will help bring the temperatures back down to average by mid-week.
