A swathe of severe storms will be likely for portions of the Midwest on Sunday evening and into the night hours.

The associated storms packed more bark than bite with no reports of damage.
The severe threat will ramp up tonight, however. Scattered activity is expected to develop in areas of the Upper Midwest in in the evening hours. Progressing into the night hours, the threat will shift further south, primarily into southern Illinois.
Strong wind and large hail will be the primary threats through the evening, transitioning to mainly wind overnight.
