Along with honoring the men and women who sacrificed their lives fighting for the country, Memorial Day Weekend is also viewed as the unofficial start to summer. What cities will have the best Memorial Day forecast? MORECAST has a look at what to expect from Mother Nature for any outdoor activities that you may have planned.
Memorial Day: Chances for the strongest thunderstorms will be across the central and northern Great Plains, including the Dakotas, Nebraska and northwest Kansas. Meanwhile, a few scattered showers or a thunderstorm will dot the I-95 corridor from Washington D.C to Boston this afternoon and evening, however, the heaviest rain has already moved out of this area. If outside, remember that even weak thunderstorms can produce deadly lightning, so take precautions if storms approach your area. Otherwise, it will be a tad cooler than in previous days across the Great Lakes and Northeast, although temperatures will still be slightly above average for the end of May. Much of interior California will be toasty, with highs in the 90s. Meanwhile, much of the Rocky Mountains will experience temperatures more than 10 degrees below average, making for a relatively cool holiday.
