Another round of severe weather is expected on Saturday across Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, western Tennessee, southeast Missouri, and western Kentucky. Morning thunderstorms and showers will weaken by noon leading way for another round of thunderstorms to develop in the afternoon.
Low pressure will push out of the Plains on Saturday and into the Midwest, which will pull Gulf moisture up into the Mississippi Valley. After morning thunderstorms move out, strong southerly winds bringing warm, moist air into the region will allow instability to increase for the afternoon. Strong thunderstorms will begin to develop after noon, continuing into the evening hours and pushing east into Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Main threats for these storms will be hail up to 2 inches, wind gusts up to 70 mph and isolated tornadoes. Flash flooding is also possible in some areas where heavier storms develop.
