A storm system is expected to move over the four corners region Friday morning and continue across Colorado during the day, bringing with it a rain/snow mix for lower elevations and all snow for the mountains. Resulting northeasterly/upslope flow will enhance snowfall in the Front Range Mountains and Palmer Divide. Temperatures will hover around the freezing mark which may lead to primarily wet roadways as snow is expected to melt on contact. Higher elevations and mountain passes should expect roads to become snow covered so driving with caution is advised. Areas that receive higher amounts of heavy wet snow may be susceptible to power outages as well. The snow is expected to continue through Friday evening and into Saturday morning for some parts of the region.
Timing for the Denver Metro area:
Rain mixing with snow from 4-6 AM local time. A change-over to snow is possible for the morning rush hour between 6 and 9 AM.
