Severe Storms to Blow into the Great Lakes

Severe weather possible in Great Lakes April 25

A storm system exiting the Northern Plains will allow for potentially severe gusts to blow through the Windy City as well as Milwaukee and areas southeast. MORECAST takes a look into what you can expect to see

As the upper level storm that brought tornadoes to Nebraska and Minnesota pushes further east, it will allow for thunderstorms to develop along a line from west of Milwaukee southeast through Illinois and into Missouri. With the afternoon progressing, increased heating will allow for thunderstorms to intensify as they begin to push further east. Storms should begin to form in a line from just north of Milwaukee, through Chicago, and extend southwest toward Peoria. Within this line, gusts to 60mph will be possible along with intense lightning and heavy rain. Moving into the overnight hours the line will begin pushing into Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio. There is some discrepancy into the extent and severity of the storms during the overnight hours, but strong winds will be possible in the heaviest storms.
