Growing Snow Threat for the Eastern Carolinas

Rain will mix with and in some spots change over completely to snow tonight into Sunday over the eastern Carolinas.  Many areas will see around an inch of snow, but some lucky snow seekers could see 2 inches or more in isolated heavier bands.

The snow will be wet and accumulations slushy as temperatures hover near or just above freezing, mainly confined to elevated surfaces such as car rooftops and grass.  The culprit is a rapidly intensifying low just off the coast in a favorable position to give the Southeast a rare snowfall.  Cities like Columbia, South Carolina as well as Raleigh and Wilmington, North Carolina could be in line to see the white stuff.  The MORECAST app will give you up-to-the-minute forecast updates!
