Major tornado damage has been reported over parts of eastern Mississippi and western Alabama near Collinsville, Aliceville, and Scooba in the past hour, with the storms now near the state line, moving northeast. Additional tornado-capable storms are moving just east of Memphis, Tennessee. The severe threat will persist through this evening from Mississippi and central Alabama into western Tennessee and Kentucky. Nashville, Tennessee and Birmingham, Alabama are major cities that may be under the gun soon!
These individual storms are expected to coalesce into a squall line with the main threat becoming high straight-line winds later this evening before the entire complex of storms weakens late this evening or early Wednesday morning. However, large, dangerous tornadoes will continue to be the main threat for the next few hours.
