Denver Area Forecast

Mainly cloudy and chilly temperatures are in store for Denver on Christmas; however, snowflakes will not be too far away. A disturbance crossing Colorado will bring a fresh covering of snow to the ski resorts west of the city, particularly from Christmas eve night through Christmas morning. Several inches of new snow can be expected from Thursday night through Christmas morning for the Ski resorts with localized amounts in excess of 6 inches likely along the west and southwest facing slopes. In Denver itself, some flurries cannot be ruled out, but impacts to travel are not anticipated. The forecast for natural snow in the mountains should give some holiday cheer to skiers looking to do some Christmas Day skiing, though the drive getting to the ski resorts could prove treacherous in some areas.

Another storm will threaten the area over the weekend with more mountain snow chances as well as the chance for snow in Denver by Saturday night and Sunday.
