California Forecast
Weather won’t cause any problems for any of the metro areas in California Christmas Day, but some light snow may fall across portions of the Sierra-Nevadas on Christmas morning around the Lake Tahoe area, one of the few places in the country that may be able to wake up Christmas morning to some fresh snow. But, the afternoon and evening hours are looking dry all across the Golden State. While temperatures will be close to seasonable levels in the Bay Area, the central valleys and southern California, you’ll need the heavy coats up in the mountains, where temperatures will be more than 20 degrees below average in the Sierras, with highs only in the 20s. The mercury may drop below zero in a few places Christmas night.
